GZ
Based in Japan, this artist initially began their career as a calligrapher and simultaneously pursued research in art (such as art history). As a calligrapher, they have had their works and designs displayed in globally recognized brands, hotels, American museums, shrines, temples, and major corporations. They have also participated in gatherings of various world leaders and international exhibitions, showcasing their talent both domestically and internationally.
From 2021, they began presenting their works as a full-fledged artist. Starting in 2024, they changed the artist name under which their artwork is presented to “GZ.”
Alongside their pursuit of their Japanese identity, they express their own foundational experiences influenced by America and Europe in their works. They explore based on art history, and while their expression mediums vary, their works fundamentally incorporate innovative references. These references serve as clues connecting the artwork, its source, and the audience. The sources of these references span across time, memory, existence itself, as well as fields such as film, music, and animation.

2021年より本格的にアーティストとして作品発表を開始。
2024年よりアートワークの作品名義を「GZ」に変更。
日本人としてのアイデンティティの在処の追及とともに、アメリカやヨーロッパの影響を受けてきた自身の原体験を作品に表している。美術史をベースに模索。表現媒体に広がりを見せるが、作品の基本に存在するのは独創的な引用で、その作品は引用元と鑑賞者を結ぶ手がかりと言える。引用元は、時間や記憶、存在そのもの、映画、音楽、アニメの分野に及ぶ。
